April 21st, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedThe latest Fab Freelance Writing Ezine BONUS issue has just gone out to subscribers. If you’re not a subscriber, the bonuses are a reason you should be, because bonus issues aren’t archived.
One point: the ezine has a double-optin-in subscription process, so you must confirm your subscription. You should also add the ezine’s email address to your Whitelist, because otherwise you’ll miss out - sp*m filters are becoming ever tighter. While this is great, it also means that you can miss out on email you want to receive.
Here’s the Editorial from the latest BONUS issue.
[Editorial] You’re A Great Writer… Show Up For Yourself
Hi Fellow Writer - I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend and that this Bonus issue helps you along the road to writing success. If you follow the tips I’ve presented, success as a writer is guaranteed.A bold statement? No, it’s not. It’s the simple truth. You’re a GREAT writer, EVEN if you’ve never made a sale as a writer.
I wrote several emails this week to writers who were ready to give up trying to make sales. I sent them a process which will help them to make sales very quickly, and which will turn them into confident writers, now and in the future. All they have to do is follow this process.
So I’m sharing the process with you too. I hope it helps you. Here it is.
Write - And Sell: You Must Practice Writing So That You Can Sell
The challenge for these writers was that they’d write something, and send it somewhere and then get depressed because they didn’t make a sale. And because they were depressed, they stopped writing. That’s like a drop of water getting depressed because it’s not a river.
Here’s the process that I and all professional high-selling writers use:
WRITING + PROMOTION = SALES
Putting it another way, sales are the OUTCOME. They’re not part of our writing process. Our writing is also separated from the promotion/ marketing. Both work together - WRITING + PROMOTION = SALES
Does that make sense to you?
Like all professional writers, I do both every day - I write, and I promote my writing and writing services - promotion is part of marketing, which is essential for writers as it is for all business people: if you’re trying to sell your writing, you’re in business.
I know that if I continue to do both - writing and promotion - sales are inevitable. They’re GUARANTEEED. That’s just the way it works. I don’t bother even thinking about sales, because they’re not something I can directly control, and so I’m never bothered by sales, OR by so-called rejections.
WRITING + PROMOTION = SALES
Really, I promise you that that’s all there is to a successful writing career. Now you know the equation, please put it to work. The article in this bonus issue, “Become a Better, Higher-selling Writer - All It Takes Is A Writing Practice”, gives you a kick start - it helps you to develop a writing practice, which is the bedrock of your career.
Affectionately,
Angela
